Pecs strengthened their squad over the winter break

Videoton face a long journey south to face Pecs in the OTP League on Saturday

Videoton have a tough looking fixture ahead of them on Saturday. Paulo Sousa's side travel south to face fifth in the OTP table Pecs. Vidi comfortably beat Pecs, when the two met back on the 20th August, with a good 4-1 home win. Pecs, who were promoted in the summer to the top level, have strengthened their squad over the winter break. There were over ten players who left them during the winter months, including several who went out on loan periods to other clubs. Probably the biggest name departure was Szabolcs Gyano, who has gone out on loan to second division Kozarmisleny. Others to make the same move were Fodor, Pinter, Miroszlav, Solyom and Toth. Nigerian player Godslove, has also left for pastures new.

Manager Ferenc Meszaros moved into the transfer window to bring in several players. The most notable was possibly the final bit of business, with 25 year old Croatian midfielder Goran Paracki arriving. He most recently with Croatian first division side NK Karlovac, but he also had previous spells with Rudar Labin, HNK Rijeka and NK Novalja. Paracki is both a right sided player as well as a defensive midfielder, who has made 62 appearances in his own country's top division. Another winter arrival from Slovakian side DAC was Zoltan Harsanyi, Norwegian player Aalesund, Nigerian Okoronkwo and Bosnian Vladimir Markovic, who arrived having previously played in the Albanian league. The spine of their side is made up of talented players, including Denes Dibusz, Andorka and the ever dangerous striker, Peter Bajzat. Others include Frolich and Oliver Nagy.

Saturday's match is sure to be a challenging one, as Pecs have been very good on their own pitch. They have lost just once on their own pitch, interestingly that came in their last home match, when Ferencvaros comfortably won 2-0! Their ten home matches to date have resulted in 5 wins and 4 draws besides the FTC defeat. They have managed 17 goals and conceded 10.
