Vidi beat Vasas by a 4 goal margin in the league cup

The Budapest side took the lead before Vidi turned the match around inside the first half, and then ended up winning the match comfortably.

The current leaders of the second division were the visitors to the Sostoi stadium in the league cup on Tuesday evening. Vasas had the first chance after 2 minutes when Takacs curled the ball over from 18 meters. Pajac had a chance at the other end, but it was blocked by a defender. Adam shot over on 8 minutes, and then Feczesin and Oliveira combined to hit the post on 9 minutes. There were efforts at either end in the moments that followed. It was the visitors that went ahead after 20 minutes. A cross from the right was headed up by Gruz, and Adam volleyed a sweet shot into the back of the net from 10 meters out (0-1).

Vidi could have levelled two minutes later when Zsolt Nagy found Oliveira in space, who crossed in to the middle but Kleinheisler could not control the ball and the danger passed. Kleinheisler then had a left footed shot on 23 minutes but the ball flew over. The leveller arrived on 27 minutes, after Feczesin released Oliveira with a good ball, with the winger hitting a good shot with the outside of his foot that settled in the back of the net. (1-1).

Remili then had a good spell on the half hour mark. He beat two men before hitting the ball on to the foot of defender Chakla, and then tried his luck with a scissor kick from 15 meters out. The latter chance was more attractive to the eye than dangerous. Pajac found himself with a chance on 39 minutes, following a mistake from a Vasas defender. His right foot shot bounced back off the crossbar. Videoton did go ahead just before half time. Fejes crossed from the left to Oliveira, who found the back of the net from 13 meters out. (2-1).

There was one change at the break from the home side and five from the visitors. Vidi extended their lead on 57 minutes with an own goal from a Vasas player. Pajac found Fejes with a pass on the left, who then sent a low cross in to the middle, but Kekesi could only steer the ball past his own keeper. (3-1).

Vasas picked things up and twice found themselves with a chance on goal, but neither could beat Tamas Horvath in the home goal. Zsolt Nagy had a dangerous chance when he headed wide from close range. Things got better for Vidi after 79 minutes. Kleinheisler passed to Kovacs, who went on a run beating defenders and then cleverly scoring to make it 4-1.

Adam's header was saved by Horvath towards the end, and then Feczesin blasted in goal number five. That goal came on 88 minutes after the forward received the ball from Nagy, and an unstoppable shot under the bar from 14 meters followed. (5-1).

Vidi won their second league cup group match by a comfortable margin. Ujpest are next up in October when they visit the Sostoi. The league season continues at the weekend with a visit to Haladas.
