Two lovely goals and three important points

First half goals from Istvan Kovacs and Adam Gyurcso secured the points for Videoton.

Videoton met Vasas for the 87th time in the first division on Saturday. It was also the 44th match in Szekesfehervar. The visitors had only managed to win four of those games at the Sostoi stadium, with the last success coming back in 2001.

It was Vasas that went looking to break that unhealthy record with the first real chance on 2 minutes. A shot from Levgen produced a good save from Danilovics. Remili then took the ball past Nego a minute later, and shot wide with a powerful shot from a tight angle. There were 10 minutes on the clock when Vidi had their first chance of the match. It also saw them go in to the lead with a lovely goal. Istvan Kovacs got hold of the ball and ended up hitting a shot with the outside of his right foot, which ended up settling in the bottom right hand corner of the net (1-0)!

A shot from Feczesin flew over the bar after 17 minutes, while Oliveira brought a good stop from Gergo Nagy in the visiting goal 5 minutes later. The action continued in a good opening half with Vasas going close to levelling. A corner by Vasas had Ubiparip heading at goal from close range that had Danilovics at his best with a very good save! Vinicius gave the ball away after 27 minutes in front of goal, which ended with Levgen shooting over the bar from 16 meters out.

There was 30 minutes on the clock when Gyurcso received a good ball on the far side, and he let the ball bounce before hitting a volley with his left foot that went just wide of the post. Gyurcso made no mistake three minutes later when his free kick found the back of the net. The winger placed the ball 24 meters out. The international midfielder picked out the top left corner, and his right foot effort curled beautifully in to make it 2-0!

Gyurcso was enjoying himself and showed good skill a minute later before shooting at the near post from 7 meters out. That ended up with Nagy saving that shot. With 5 minutes of the first half remaining, Oliveira showed a dummy to his marker that had him on the floor, before squaring it in to the middle but the young visiting keeper punched ahead of the pouncing Feczesin.

The second half was more even and there was less action in front of both goals. The best chance of the second period arrived after 56 minutes. Vasas found themselves in a 2 against 1 situation, with Levgen being played in on goal, but he could not beat Danilovics, who saved really well. It was a very good save to deny the side from Budapest. Vidi comfortably played out the remainder of the half to secure three good points with two lovely goals.

Vidi have a difficult series of matches coming up with MTK, FTC, Debrecen and Paks all to play.
