The forward spoke about the derby match against ETO, his latest league goal, the hard challenge from Liptak and the tasks ahead of the team.
The league game against Győr started really well, as we led 2-0 after 40 minutes. However, the final result was 2-2. How would you sum up the end result and whether it was a case of 2 points lost or 1 point gained?
The match did start really good for us, and we created many chances in the first half. The game could have been settled by that point but ETO showed that they are one of the best sides in Hungarian football. They managed to get themselves back in the match. We picked up a point in the end but I do not consider this to be any kind of failure at all. This was a real big derby match. It is never a good feeling to lose points in the last minute, but this is part of football. The most important thing is that we sit at the top of the table with a 6 points lead over the second placed side.
Nikolics goal against Győri ETO
You scored another league goal, which now sees you on 17 goals from 18 games. With you missing one league game that means your still on a 100% record. Were you expecting to continue like this over the spring season?
I was hoping for this and this is what I work for. I am pleased that I scored another goal, which is the job of a forward. This is also good for my confidence. We still have 12 games ahead of us in the league, so the end is still far, but I would like to continue this run in the next game.
You ended up being treated for a lengthy period towards the end of the first half. Many were fearing the worst and were unsure about the size of the problem. What happened exactly and how are you now?
I received the ball and tried to turn to release Oliveira, when a late challenge came in from Liptak. I do not think that this was on purpose. It affected my ankle and shin, which still feels sensative now, but fortunately I escaped without any thing more serious.
Lipták did not even receive a yellow for this challenge.
Vidi are in Hungarian cup action on Wednesday against Pecs. Then there is a league game with Nyiregyhaza on Saturday. What are you expecting from these games?
We are still in with a chance of winning all three domestic competitions. We take each one very seriously, and the same naturally applies to Wednesday's cup match. We have prepared for the amount of matches coming up, so playing Saturday-Wednesday will be no problem. I am sure that some of those players that did not play on Sunday will be given the chance in this match. They know exactly what to do so I am sure that they will solve it. We prepare to win in each match.
