The Vidi midfielder played in the centre for Hungary on Thursday evening in the 3-1 win over Latvia.
Hungary were in World Cup qualifying action Thursday evening. They beat Latvia 3-1 at the Groupama Arena in Budapest. Vidi player Mate Patkai played the entire game and it was his first appearance for his country since signing for the Szekesfehervar club.
"I am very pleased that my performance tonight has received a positive reaction. I felt good out there on the pitch, although manager Bernd Storck gave me a slightly different role to the one I am used to with Videoton. I played in front of the defence in the game. I felt that we did very well and the game went perfectly. I played with freedom and we had many attacking moves that went through me. I this is why I really hope that my performance against Latvia will provide the supporters and manager as well as myself with hope before Sunday's game. The manager congratulated everyone in the dressing room for the win. We will have a talk about the match on Friday and he will let us know who did well in Thursday's game" - commented the midfielder after the final whistle.
