Vidi scored 4 second half goals to pick up their first league win of the season.
Vidi had only ever met Gyirmot in the Hungarian and league cup's. They had yet to meet in a league match until today. The two came face to face in week 4 of the 2016-17 season. Neither side had managed to win leading up to the match, with the home side having drawn two and lost one to sit in 10th place. Vidi went into the game a place behind after one draw and two defeats.
The sun was shining but the conditions were also windy as the match started with 3 chances for Videoton. Suljic was the first to try his luck at goal with a shot that was saved by Sebok. A Juhasz header went over from close range, while Geresi sent a header into the hands of the home keeper. Geresi was again in the middle of the action when he showed good skill to find himself with a chance on 11 minutes. However, his shot was blocked by a defender. A minute later, Lazovic and then Patkai created danger on the home goal, but neither ended up in the back of the net. Simon did put the ball in the net on 15 minutes, but there was a foul leading up to it, which resulted in the referee giving a free kick. Lazovic shot just wide of the left post after 23 minutes, while 10 minutes later, a Csiki effort was held by visiting keeper Kovacsik. There were no further chances in the first half as the two sides went in at the break 0-0.
It was Videoton that started the second half very well and they took the lead after 47 minutes. The ball fell to Juhasz, who fired a low shot into the right corner from 17 meters to make it 0-1.
Vidi could have doubled the lead a minute later when a low Geresi cross was met by Lazovic, whose shot was blocked. The Serbian player made no mistake 10 minutes later when he made it 2-0 to Vidi. A Suljic pass was brilliantly met and the ball flew into top left corner! 0-2.
A Lazovic free kick shortly afterwards was headed just wide of the left post from 11 meters out. Sebok was alert to deny a 30 meter shot from Juhasz going in. Three consecutive corners from Lazovic on 70 minutes ended with the third one being headed by Vinicius, but the ball rebounded off a defender and was saved by Sebok. Geresi found Patkai, who from close range made no mistake with his left foot shot making the score 0-3.
The action continued with a left foot Feczesin shot being saved by Sebok, while at the other end, Volgyi's free kick was tipped over by Kovacsik. Feczesin added a fourth with a minute left after a Lazovic shot rebounded off a defender.
Vidi recorded a confident 4-0 away win at the home of Gyirmot. Mezokovesd are the visitors at the Pancho Arena next Saturday, with that game kicking off at 18:00pm.
