The Videoton manager previews the away league game at Paks this evening.
"I have heard a lot about how difficult it is for teams to go to Paks. They play in a special way when defending and also in attack. We will need to concentrate throughout the game against them. We remain the only unbeaten side in the league and we want it to stay that way. We are currently first in the league, but at the moment that does not mean too much. I would like us to improve tactically, fitness wise and in our individual game. We will have more time to work with the players and that will hopefully lead to the performance levels increasing. Coming back to the game with Paks: It is very important as to how we approach the game. It is important that all of the players should be mentality OK in their heads this evening. Three points against Paks is exactly the same that you get for winning a big match" - commented Marko Nikolic.
We also asked the manager about his thoughts on the international break and the work that he managed to do with the players. "Fortunately I have exeperienced the same with my earlier clubs when 10-12 players were away on international duty. So this situation is not strange or unknown for me. I feel that it has been a good week with hard training sessions. We had pre-season, which was followed by two months of matches and concentrating on regeneration work. We finally had the time to look at other areas. We have had players that have been here with us since Monday and also those that have returned from their national teams. We will see what condition they will be in. I hope that everyone will be fit and healthy when they link back up with us. That will help us to fully focus on the league season. I was present to watch Hungary play and I liked the positive atmosphere that the supporters created. I was also pleased to see both Mate Patkai and Attila Fiola play for their country. However, it is a pity that Hungary have no chance of appearing at the World Cup finals.
