After the match ended in a 3-1 home victory, the two head coaches, Krisztián Tímár and Zsolt Hornyák, assessed the game.
Krisztián Tímár:
"I'm angry because we conceded avoidable goals in the first half, which is unacceptable in our current situation and against such a strong opponent as Puskás Akadémia. We started timidly, but after fifteen minutes we took control and managed to get behind them several times. We won a lot of corners and had a lot of crosses, but our opponents took the lead, and then at the end of the half we were careless again and conceded another goal at the worst possible moment. After the break, we tried to stay in the game, but Puskás scored a great goal and didn't create any other clear chances. Unfortunately, our consolation goal came too late. We need to play with much more responsibility because one or two lapses can put a huge burden on the whole team. Our next game is at home, and we definitely want to get some points.
Zsolt Hornyák:
"We've just come through a very difficult match, a real derby. We knew that Vidi had good players and we were aware of the difficult situation they were in. We didn't underestimate them, we were better at keeping possession and we deserved to win with our excellent attitude. It would have been better if the final score had been 3-0, but we're not complaining. We got three important points, as we have a decisive match against Fradi next week, which could decide the championship title. Today was a real team effort, we scored some nice goals and I'm glad we can go into the match against FTC with an important victory under our belts."
