MARTIN DALA

‘We don't want to blame anyone for the defeat, it's only us, the players, who are responsible for it.’

Our goalkeeper, Dala Martin, spoke to us after the match against DVSC and thanked the fans for their support throughout the year.

"I know that after matches, you usually have to comment on the game itself, but I don't think the fans are interested in hearing about what it was like playing against DVSC from the inside. It was an uplifting and touching feeling when I arrived at the stadium in the afternoon and saw so many people, including lots of children, wearing Vidi shirts and scarves. It was great to see the whole city come together as one. I hope the fans can experience many more moments like this, with Vidi coming out on top, of course. We felt that the fans were behind us throughout the season, and that was also the case at today's match. We owe our fans nothing but gratitude. We had a strong ten minutes at the start of the match, but then Debrecen's first goal came as a cold shower, and we failed to respond well. We desperately pushed forward, but we couldn't create any real chances. We don't want to blame anyone for the relegation, it's all down to us, the players. I grew up at this club, so I can honestly say that Vidi means a lot to me. I never thought this club would ever be relegated, and it hurts a lot that I was part of it. I can't really find the words, I'm extremely sad. I hope that football in Székesfehérvár will return as quickly as possible to where it belongs, which is the top division," Dala Martin told our website.
