Hungary take on Finland in the final group G match of the European Championship qualifiers
Hungary entertain Finland at the Ferenc Puskas stadium on Tuesday evening in the European Championship Qualifier - Group G. Kick off: 20:00pm
Sandor Egervari sends out his Hungarian national side on Tuesday evening, at the Ferenc Puskas stadium, against an improving Finland side. The Hungarian squad have been training at Telki, ahead of the match, and they include Vidi duo Gyorgy Sandor and Akos Elek. Pal Lazar has also been in training, with Vidi's former right back now playing his football with Turkish club Samsunspor. A home crowd of around 25,000 is expected to turn out with Hungary set to finish third in the group. They were still in with a chance of getting second place, which would have meant the play off's, but Sweden's 2-1 away win in Helsinki put paid to that.
Vidi midfielder Gyorgy Sandor has been in good form this season, and he looks likely to start against the Fins. He came on as a second half substitute against Sweden, in the last home match, and also performed in the away match in Moldova. Akos Elek also looks set to start being a regular in Egervari's teams since he became manager. Elek set up the last minute winner in Finland, where Hungary won 2-1 and that was a real springboard to future performances. In the end, the two defeats to Holland and the away loss in Sweden look to have cost Hungary progression into the play off's, which could have meant a possible place at the Ukraine-Poland finals next summer.
