Around 25 students from the University of Durham turned out to watch Thursday's 3-1 home win over Pecs.
"The University of Durham amateur football team are on a football tour in Hungary for a week. We decided to go to Budapest for a bit of relaxation and adventure. We also wanted to take in a football match during our time here. We looked for games on the internet and decided on the league cup semi-final, first leg match between Videoton and Pecs. We then found the official website of Videoton FC, and were very pleased to see that it had an English side as well, and a quality one at the same time! We got in contact with the club who were very helpful. We travelled down by train for the game from Budapest. The stadium is really nice and much better than we had expected. I can honestly say that I had not heard too much about Videoton previously. The same applies to Hungarian football, but we know about Ferenc Puskas but not much else. We really enjoyed the league cup match, and Videoton had some good attacking moves, even though the opposition side were not that weak. It was nice to see the goals go in and a good home win. We will keep up with the fortunes of Videoton in the future" - said Durham student Jeremy Stamper to the club's official website.
