Merkantil Bank Liga NB II
The 2025/2026 Merkantil Bank Liga NB II season will start on Sunday 27th July 2025 and end on Sunday 17th May 2026.
The first international break will begin after the sixth round on 1st September, with the league resuming on 21st September. After the 13th round, there will be another international break from the 11th to 23rd November.
The third international break will last from 23rd March to 5th April 2026. The NB II autumn season will end on 30th November with the 15th round, while the spring half-season begins on 1st February 2026.
Sixteen teams will compete in the second division in a home-and-away format. After the 30th round, the top two teams in the league will be promoted to the Fizz League NB I, while the 15th and 16th placed teams will be relegated to NB III.
Teams participating in the league must include at least two players born on or after 1st January 2006 in their match sheets, who must be Hungarian or foreign nationals and have been registered as footballers in Hungary for at least three league seasons, either continuously or with interruptions. These footballers must be on the pitch for the entire match, unless they are substituted by football players who meet the age requirements, or unless they are sent off, or unless the team has used up all its substitutions and is then reduced to 10 players due to injury.
The official match day for the Merkantil Bank Liga NB II is Sunday, with midweek matches taking place on Wednesday's, but these may change due to television broadcasts. Second division matches are broadcast on M4 Sport.
MOL HUNGARIAN CUP
The matches will start on 2-3 August, with the second round taking place on 23-24 August. NB I and NB II clubs will join the cup competition in the third round (13-14 September) as the best 64 teams.
In the third round, if there is a difference in divisions between the teams drawn, the lower-division team will have home advantage. In the case of teams in the same league, the team that has had home advantage fewer times in previous rounds will play at home. If this is also the case, the match will be played at the home of the team drawn first in the draw. Cup ties will be decided over a single match.
The final will be held on Saturday, 9 May, at the Puskás Arena.
