Gabor Marton will take his team to Bratislava on Tuesday afternoon for the second pre-season friendly of the summer. Vidi drew 0-0 at Haladas on Saturday in the first practice game. The squad then moved into their Bukfurdo hotel for a 10 day training camp, which will include 4 friendly games.
Slovan won the first division of the Czechoslovak Football Championship eight times and the Slovak one thirteen times, and triumphed in the Czechoslovak and Slovak Cup twenty times. The biggest success on the international stage was the lifting of the European Cup Winners' Cup in the 1968–1969 season, in addition to which the club once won the Central European Cup. Slovan, until the 1984-1985 season, was the only team not to fall out of the top division.
The 2019-2020 season saw Slovan also win the Slovakian Championship and the Slovakian Cup. During the 27 rounds of the league season, they picked up 21 wins, 5 draws and just 1 defeat. In the cup final, they beat Rozomberok 1-0.
In preparation for next season, Slovan last played on Saturday in a friendly match. The result of the match against Skalica, also from Slovakia, was 1-0 in favor of Slovan.
Vidi - Slovan history
MOL Fehérvár FC and SK Slovan Bratislava have met several times recently.
In June 2010, the first friendly match ended with Slovan the happier, as they won 1-0 against us. The next meeting took place in January 2011. That friendly match produced a 1-0 win.
On 19 July 2012, the two teams clashed again, this time in the Europa League qualifiers. In the first match, Slovan took the lead in the 26th minute with Sebo's goal, four minutes later we equalized through Oliveira, with the match ending 1-1. The second leg a week later ended in a 0-0 draw, so we advanced to the next round with the away goal rule.
