Ádám Somogyi previously played for Vidi for four years in our youth team and is now returning to Fehérvár on loan.
Another young player has joined our club: 18-year-old defensive midfielder Ádám Somogyi joins on loan from Budapest Honvéd FC until the end of the season.
Ádám Somogyi, who is eligible under the youth rule, was born on 23rd November 2007, in Budapest. He started playing football in Csepel in 2013, before signing with Videoton in 2016. He played in our youth team for four years, where he competed in the U12, U13, and U14 first division leagues. His coaches in our then youth team included Tamás Csrepka, Imre Vadász, Csaba Palánki, Milán Disztl, and Balázs Bárdosi.

Between 2020 and 2024, he played for Puskás Akadémia FC's youth team, where he took part in the Puskás-Suzuki Cup, finishing fourth with his team. In the summer of 2024, he transferred to Honvéd, where he made his debut in the senior league. Over the past season and a half, he has played in 30 NB II matches and one MOL Hungarian Cup match for the first team at Kispest. He was first invited to join the Hungarian youth national team as a U16 player, where he has been a regular ever since and is currently a member of the U19 national team.
"With Ádám Somogyi, we have strengthened our squad with an 18-year-old midfielder who is one of the key players in the U19 national team. We are particularly pleased to have signed a player who spent years in Vidi's youth academy as a child. His name came up last November, and we definitely wanted to sign him in agreement with the owners, head coach, and managing director, and we felt that Ádám would also be happy to play for Videoton. Events have accelerated in recent days, and we have finally managed to reach an agreement with Honvéd and the player. This further increases head coach Tamás Pető's options in midfield, and he could even make his debut for our team in Saturday's league match against Ajka," said sporting director Nemanja Nikolics on our website.
