Vidi make it through to the last 8 of the league cup

Videoton safely negotiated their way into the last eight of the league cup after a 1-1 second leg draw at Kapsovar. Leading 3-0 from the first leg a week ago, manager José Gomes had to do without eight players who are currently away on international duty. Four players are with the senior Hungarian side, which is preparing for Wednesday's home friendly with Finland, while Stopira is away with the Cape Verde national side. A further three are with the Hungarian U21 team. Vidi were still strong enough to make it through on Tuesday afternoon.

Paraiba returned to the starting eleven after a lengthy period out with injury. Zé Luis, Vinicius, Oliveira, Alvarez and Haraszti also featured from the kick off. Making the step up from the second team were Tar and Hudak, who were given the chance to impress. The home side could not really create any chances on Tujvel's goal, getting as far as corner kicks. There was a foul on Haraszti after 15 minutes, inside the box, which the match official judged as a penalty kick. Oliveira took it but it struck the leg of keeper Jahic. There were one or two long range efforts but nothing serious of note. 

Kaposvar went out with a more attacking look to their side in the second half. They also took the lead after 50 minutes. Tujvel's clearance fell to Murai, who showed good movement before hitting his shot in to the back of the empty net (1-0). The home team directed more of the play following that goal, but they could not put any real danger on the Vidi goal. A quick counter attack on 82 minutes ended up with Zé Luis, with a touch of good fortune, he made no mistake to level the score (1-1).

The referee blew for full time and it is Videoton that progress through to the last eight of the competition with a 4-1 aggregate win. Kaposvar may have taken the lead but there was never any real danger of the red and blues not making it through.
