Videoton went into the weekend with a lead of ten points. That impressive lead is still intact, following a weekend when most of the top sides slipped up. Haladas went into the match having won their last seven home games. That statistic meant that it was never going to be easy for Gyorgy Mezey's side. So it turned out as second half goals from Halmosi and Kenesei kept the three points in Szombathely. It was Vidi who started the match the brighter, carving out good chances early in the first half. Laszlo Lencse was brilliantly played in by Andre Alves, and the young striker found himself in a one on one situation, which eventually saw Haladas keeper Rozsa tip the ball around the post.
Halmosi had the first real chance, when he turned inside the box, but his effort went over the bar. The same player made no mistake in the 78th minute, when his low shot went in at the near post, with keeper Bozsovics just failing to get his hand to it. Vidi went looking for the equalising goal, but it was Haladas who broke away, as Kenesei beat Balazs Farkas for pace, as he burst towards goal. Farkas managed to get his foot on the ball but that only helped the experienced Kenesei to round the keeper and slot the ball home for the second. Videoton now have a Hungarian cup fixture to focus on during the week, while the next league fixture will be next Saturday's home game with Lombard Papa.
