Videoton complete the job against Győri ETO

A first half Peric goal gave Vidi a 6-1 aggregate win over Győri ETO on Wednesday evening

Videoton completed the job in hand on Wednesday evening, to progress in to the semi-finals of the Hungarian cup. They did it in a professional way, playing with tactics and a game plan, which has become the base of recent Videoton performances. Paulo Sousa's side went into the match with a healthy 5-1 first leg lead. In truth, that was never going to be in danger and a single first half Peric goal, further increased the overall aggregate score.

EARLY GOAL SILENCED THE HOME CROWD

Perhaps things were made easier by the fact that Vidi were already a goal up after just 11 minutes, at the home of second in the table, Győri ETO. Gyurcso pulled the ball back for Mitrovics, who cleverly curled the ball into the box, where Perics was waiting to guide his header past Stevanovics. It was the first senior goal from Milan Perics, who arrived in the winter break from Kaposvar. Mitrovics deserves credit for the way he found Perics in the build up to the goal. The early goal also silenced the home crowd, who became frustrated as the match went on.

VIDI WILL FACE MTK IN THE SEMI FINALS

There was a very poor attendance inside ETO park, with veryfew locals believing their side had a chance of going through. Vidi went on to dominate following the opener. They protected their lead, safe in the knowledge that their 5-1 first leg lead was always going to be enough to secure a semi-final tie with MTK. That impressive first leg lead also meant that several players could be rested by Paulo Sousa, ahead of Sunday's
