The good run continues with a win at Honved

A goal from Stopira before the half time whistle was enough to clinch all three points.

The 27th weekend of the OTP league saw Videoton make the journey to Budapest to face Honved. The home side changed their manager during the week with Marco Rossi departing and Miklos Simon replacing him on the bench. Vidi were forced in to a change with Zé Luis missing out with a foot injury. Filipe Oliveira got the chance to start after he came on as a sub last week in the match at Puskas FC, to score with his first touch. There was a very small crowd inside the Bozsik stadium with the weather conditions cloudy at kick off time.

There were two long range shots from Honved, which caused danger, but this was followed by the biggest chance of the match, which fell to Oliveira. A cross from the left from Stopira resulted in a shot into the near side netting. Oliveira remained in the thick of things on 34 minutes. He cut the ball back to Nikolics, who curled a right foot effort just wide of the left post.

The breakthrough arrived two minutes before half time: Alvarez produced skill before crossing the ball to the far post, which ended with Stopira sliding in to connect with the ball and send it into the back of the empty net. (0-1). Honved came back strongly following the restart, and they could have scored a goal from Hidi's header from 10 meters out, which struck the left post, and the rebound fell to Bobal, who shot at goal from close range, which produced a quality save from Calatayud. Videoton went in at the break with a goal advantage.

The first chance of the second half arrived after 52 minutes. Oliveira began a move, which ended with Nikolics trying his luck from distance as he sent a lob towards goal, but the retreating Kemenes caught the ball. Calatayud then dealt well with a header from Honved forward Bobal. Sandor fed Nikolics with a lovely ball a minute later, but Niko sent his shot just wide of the post.

The 57th minute saw Vitor Gomes release Alvarez, who found the back of the net from close. However, the match official did not allow the effort, flagging Nikolics offside, with the score remaining 1-0 to Vidi. The biggest chance fell to the home side towards the end. A cross from the right resulted with the ball being cleared off the line by a defender.

There were three minutes of injury time, before referee Solymosi blew for full time. Vidi picked up the three points at the Bozsik stadium to remain in third place. Kaposvar visit the Sostoi stadium next Saturday in the OTP league division one fixture.
