Sousa: We won this important game by playing with maturity

Vidi's manager watched his side pick up this season's league cup, after a confident 3-0 away win on Wednesday evening. Both managers spoke after the game about how they saw the match.

The aim in a final is for your team to win, and today's win was very important. We played away from home against a very good side. We managed to win at Kecskemet earlier on, but we have also lost against them this season, so I would repeat once again that we are talking about a very good side. We were also up against a Kecskemet side who have been playing well, but my players showed maturity and turned what we had imagined into reality. We also showed our maturity by taking the lead in the first half. I am very proud and pleased of my team for this win.

I would like to congratulate Videoton FC, for winning the final, but also to congratulate my own team, and of course our supporters. They still showed good support even when we were 0-3 down. We got into the final after a long and successful series of results. We gave several youngsters the chance to show what they can do in the league cup games. It has been a real positive that they have also performed well in the league. Videoton FC played with unbelivable tactical discipline over the entire game. Unfortunately, they scored the first goal, and remained disciplined after. They did not leave us any space, and we were forced several times to play the ball back, and we were unable to play the normal attacking football that we are known for.
