The Vidi captain spoke shortly after the final whistle on Thursday evening.
"Overall the way we played was not bad, but you need to win games like these on your home pitch. It was important for us to start the group stage well, but we conceded goals that were avoidable. We created more chances than BATE Borisov, but unfortunately we could not convert them. You get punished with goals at this level for the smallest mistake. We attacked throughout the second half, but it was the Belarusian side that ended up scoring. We need to learn from the match. Our opponents did not play a confusing style of football, with the main emphasis being their stable defending. As I have said, we had the chances and we need to be more precise in our finishing. Both goals were avoidable and these mistakes are not typical of us so we will need to play with more concentration in the future" - explained captain Roland Juhasz.
