Peric makes his debut in Vidi colours

Videoton's recent signing made his first appearance for his new club

Milan Perics did not feature in Vidi's friendly match with Dinamo Bucharest a few days ago. His first chance came in Wednesday afternoon's game with Tavriya, where he came on after 70 minutes. He partnered Nemanja Nikolics for the last 20 minutes of the game.

Milan Perics: "I am very pleased that I made my debut for Vidi. It was a tough and intensive game against the Ukrainians. The first 20 minutes was a pity, as we played better than our opponents for large periods of the game. We were not able to score any goals sadly. I was pleased with my own performance, and of course I can play better than this. I had just come on as a sub when I had a good chance, and I aimed for the bottom left corner, and it would have probably gone in, if it had not hit the defender and gone for a corner. I do not understand how the match official did not give a corner, and instead awarded a goal kick. I still feel that I need to train much more with the other players, so that our link play and understanding will be better all round. I need to get more familiar with the teams tactics, but it is only natural as I have not been at the club that long. This will not be a problem as I learn quickly, and I will adjust and blend in with the others well."

He spoke with several of the Tavriya players, and it soon emerged that he had spent an earlier short period with the club. "I spent half a year with Tavriya in 2006, and they were my second professional club. I played 12 times for them and scored 3 goals. I met several players that I had played with together previously. I had not seen some of them for 6 years, so it was good to see them again. We even managed to speak for a few minutes together. They were more surprised than me, as I knew who we would play, but they didn't really know who they would be playing, and that I now play for Vidi" explained Perics.

"I could see from the first day here that the club is run on a very professional scale. There is real professional work going in during the training sessions. Paulo Sousa and his staff do things to the maximum, and they have prepared very professional training sessions for the spring season. Our two performances over the Turkish training camp shows that we are just ahead of a great spring. I am sure that we can make up the 9 point gap, and we will do everything on the pitch and win the games. Of course, just like in life, you need luck for this, but luck comes to those who work for it. I also think that we are still in with a chance of doing the triple, which is the league, Hungarian cup and league cup" - finished Peric.
