The first leg of the league cup semi-final takes place in Szekesfehervar on Thursday
Videoton entertain Pecs in the league cup on Thursday afternoon, looking to book a place in the final. Pecs defeated Honved in the previous round, in a very eventful game. Their first leg ended in a 3-2 home win, with goals coming from Witterdi, who scored twice, and Grumics. The return leg finished 3-3 in Budapest, with Koller, Horvath and Szatmari finding the net. They also ended top of their group B in the earlier phase of the league cup. Pecs won 3 of their 6 games, drawing 2 and losing the other. Manager Attila Supka was then in charge, but he has since been replaced by Emil Lorincz.
There were many changes at the southern based club over the winter. A total of 16 left the football club with 9 arriving. Some well known faces departed, including Peter Bajzat, Laszlo Bodnar and Gabor Demjen. In their place arrived former Videoton championship winning defender Pal Lazar, Bela Balogh and Attila Simon in attack.
The most recent league match with Pecs ended in a 0-0 draw in November. Vidi only met Pecs in the league last season. A 3-1 home win at the Sostoi was followed up by an impressive 4-1 away win in Pecs. The two did not meet in the previous 4 years before those games as Pecs were playing football in the 2nd division.
Thursday's game kicks off at 17.15, with free entrance to supporters. A home win would give Vidi a good lead to take into Sunday's second leg match.
