Vidi twice came from behind to draw with Lombard Papa at the Sostoi stadium.
Videoton entertained tenth in the table Lombard Papa in the 24th weekend of the OTP league season. The game began at a good pace, with Nikolics finding himself with a chance on goal after one minute. Szolnoki played him through on the right side, but the Vidi forward saw his shot saved by veteran keeper Lajos Szucs in goal. The red and blues remained on the attack, with Haraszti twice trying his luck from long range.
Then out of the blue on 10 minutes, Papa went ahead from their first attack: Sekour fed Nemeth on the left, who crossed in to the middle for the arriving Arsic to score from close range. (0-1). The general shape of the match remained the same with Videoton continuing to press forward in search of the leveller. However, Lombard Papa were happy to sit back in numbers and defend. Haraszti had another shot on goal, while Stopira had several crosses from the left, without Vidi forcing a real chance on goal.
The second part of the first half resulted in a long range effort from Nikolics and a close range shot from Arsic, but neither chance ended in the back of the net. Zé Luis came on towards the end of the first half, in place of Szolnoki as Vidi went two up front. The half ended with a free kick from Haraszti, which went in to the side netting.
Vidi started the second half at a very fast pace, forcing Papa back in front of their own goal. This played a part in Vidi drawing level thanks to Zé Luis. Haraszti's corner ended with good movement from the Cape Verde striker, who first tried an overhead kick, before heading the ball in to the back of the net while virtually on the ground. (1-1).
Lombard then went ahead within a few minutes for the second time in the match: A corner from the right was flicked on by Maric, and his header ended up in the back of the net (1-2).
Vidi needed 4 minutes to come back and level things. Zé Luis did really well to release Alvarez on goal, and he made no mistake with a powerful left footed shot past the keeper. (2-2).
There were still 30 minutes left in the league game, as Vidi continued on the front foot in search of a third goal to try and win the game. The final half hour saw plenty of chances and a disallowed goal. The match ended in a 2-2 draw with both sides having to settle for a single point. Vidi travel to Budapest next weekend when they face Ujpest.
