Nothing went right for Videoton at a rain soaked Kaposvar

The awful weather gave no favours to Paulo Sousa and his Videoton side, who like to pass the ball around and build attacks. The heavy rainfall, which fell over the Kaposvar stadium in the hours leading upto the game, as well as during most parts of the match, made it hard to play good football for either side. Sousa brought in Andras Gosztonyi in place of Daniel Nagy on the right, but stuck with more or less the same side that easily beat Paks 4-0 last week. Large puddles covered areas of the pitch as the referee blew for kick off.

Hajduch in the home goal punch away a Brachi free kick after 7 minutes, but that was as close as Vidi were to get to his goal for the rest of the half. Kulcsar's free kick from the left after 14 minutes was met well by Peric, who headed downwards past Tujvel, in to the corner of the net 1-0. Pavlovic then broke away after 17 minutes but the Vidi defence managed to clear the danger.
Tujvel saved a free kick from Gujic after 31 minutes as the home side continued to put pressure on the visitors. Central defender Tamas Vasko found his way into the referee's book, picking up a yellow card after 39 minutes. Kaposvar's Gujic followed him into the same book a couple of minutes later. The referee was kept busy during the last few minutes of the first period, with Liptak making it a trio of cautions.
The official blew for half time to end a disappointing first half performance for Paulo Sousa's side. Left winger Walter was replaced at the break by Akos Elek, as Vidi tried to get back into the match. Peric twice found himself with a chance on goal in the opening minutes of the second half. However, Tujvel did well to save his second effort to keep Vidi in the game. Kaposvar's Peric was unlucky to see his shot go across the face of the goal after 59 minutes. Sousa brought on Evandro in place of Mitrovics, as he looked to add pace and strength to the forward line. Kulcsar's cross after 69 minutes found it's way to Peric who made it 2-0 to the home side.
