One goal defeat at the home of Ferencvaros

Ferencvaros kept the three points at home but Vidi made them fight all the way.

There were over 5000 inside the Groupama Arena in Budapest on Wednesday evening. The two sides met in this rearranged game after the original match was moved to the current date as a result of the international play off's. There was one change to the Vidi side to the team that started against MTK at the weekend. Mate Patkai came in while Zsolt Poloskei took his place on the bench.

Gera had the first chance of the game on 6 minutes with his shot being saved by Danilovics in the visiting goal. Adam Nagy then blasted over a moment later from 17 meters out. The end of the first quarter of the game resulted in Lamah and then Pinter trying their luck for the green and whites. Neither effort seriously tested the Vidi keeper. Nego then played a lovely ball through to Kovacs after 15 minutes, which saw the midfielder shoot at goal and Dibusz pull off a smart stop! A Gyurcso free kick was headed out on 23 minutes, with the ball falling to Vinicius who volleyed, but it came off a defender. That move saw Vinicius require treatment from the physio after his foot connected with the defender's.

Feczesin then did well on 25 minutes when he went down the wing, before crossing the ball to the far post, but Gyurcso shot over when well placed. The action continued to come thick and fast with Bode next up to test his luck for the home side. However, Vinicius was well positioned to tackle him and clear the danger. A long range Gyurcso shot after 33 minutes went just over the bar after taking a slight deflection of a home player. There were 37 minutes on the clock when Sestak played the ball back to Lamah, who drove his shot at Danilovics. The final action of the first period saw Gyurcso shoot just wide of the left post.

The second half started with Suljc curling a shot in to the hands of Dibusz. Another free kick from Gyurcso on 59 minutes went over the bar from 30 meters out. Gyurcso remained in the thick of the action after 61 minutes. His high ball in resulted with Oliveira being put through with a big chance, but he connected weakly with the ball. The home side then went ahead when they scored the only goal of the match after 62 minutes. Gera played a header through, which fell at the feet of Rado, who broke in to the box and fired his shot in to the bottom left corner (1-0).

Vidi came forward after conceding that goal, which resulted in chances in front of both goals. Feczesin laid the ball in to the path of Suljic, who shot over when well positioned from 10 meters out. Ramirez and then Varga both provided dangerous moments at the other end, while Lamah, Rado and Bode saw efforts all miss the target. The latter produced a very good save from Danilovics. Vidi went all out for the equalizer in the final minutes as they hit several long balls in to the Ferencvaros box, but they could not find the all-important goal and the game ended in a 1-0 home win.

Videoton are next in action at the weekend when they make the visit to Debrecen.
