Vidi's goalscoring forward was understandably very pleased to comment on Saturday's league match, with only one small thing lacking.
"We prepared just as seriously for this game as we have for all the other matches. We looked at our opponents thoroughly during the week, including plenty of videos. The manager drew special attention that it would not be an easy game, as Papa have not been beaten at home by clubs like Ujpest, Győri ETO, DVTK and they also beat Ferencvaros. Papa have also hardly conceded goals on their home pitch, so we were really looking at the game being a difficult one. This was our plan, which we managed in the end, to put our own stamp on the home team. The fact that we scored two quick goals at the start of the game relaxed the team, and we managed to play our own game. We scored 5 goals against Papa, who had only let in 6 goals in their 8 league matches to date. I think that this speaks for itself. One thing that I am a little bit disappointed about is that I still haven't scored a hatrick in a league game for Vidi, although I was very close to doing this today. I have scored two goals in around 20 matches, and I would be delighted to score three goals, but naturally the most important thing is that the team won. We took a small step towards our overall aim with this win at Papa, but there is still plenty left of the season. As to the fact that in 16 league games so far, we have not conceded a goal in 13 of those matches is a rarity on the European level" - commented Nemanja Nikolics, who has scored 15 goals in 15 league games this season to lead the goalscoring table.
