Nemanja Nikolics receives Hungarian citizenship

"You should know that I know this country, likes the language and serves the nation", was how local major, Cser-Palkovics Andras spoke about Nemanja Nikolics, following this morning's ceremony, where the Videoton player took the oath of citizenship. The forward arrived together with his girlfriend, where several media were already waiting for him. "I knew that it was not that easy to obtain Hungarian citizenship, but I was hoping that it would be a little quicker than normal, as my mother is Hungarian. It did not turn out that way, but the most important thing now is that I have the document in my hand. I would like to thank my parents, who helped out a lot, as I had to hand in several relevant documents after I made my application. I am pleased that this day has finally arrived!"

Nemanja has not given up his Serbian passport, and has chosen dual nationality. This means that as of today, he can also receive a call up for the Hungarian national side, should manager Sandor Egervari choose so. "I am working  hard so that I can be in good form, and I know that I will have to score plenty of goals to get the attention of the national team manager." - said Nikolics.
