Vidi have had very little to cheer about over the years at Kaposvar
The history of matches between Kaposvar and Videoton began back in the season of 1975/76. It was a high scoring draw, which ended 3-3 on the 7th weekend, back on the 27th November 1976. Vidi's goals that day came from Nagy, Wollek and Karsai. Nagy was also on target in the first game between the two at the Sostoi stadium. His goal was the difference that day as Videoton emerged 1-0 winners. Videoton then managed to win the next two matches in Fehervar, first with a 1-0 scoreline and then 4-3. The two matches at Kaposvar's ground ended in a defeat and goaless draw. Kaposvar were relegated from the top division in the spring of 1978, with the next game taking place in the 1980/81 season. Videoton picked up two 4-1 wins that year, both home and away, with the green and whites getting relegated once again.
Very few would have thought following that 4-1 away win, with Burcsa (2), Tiber and Szabo on target, that it would signal a 30 year wait for another win down at their ground. It has been three decades since Vidi last picked up three points, although in season 1999/2000, Vidi were 3-0 winners there, but that was a second division match, with both teams not playing first division football that year. Kaposvar then went on a run of 6 matches, where they picked up 5 wins and a draw. The overall goal count in those games was 11-3 to Kaposvar. Last season saw that run broken as two Andre Alves goals and another from Nemanja Nikolics, made it a 3-1 away win for Gyorgy Mezey's side.
