Two second half goals gave the points to the Miskolc side.
The second third of the league season kicked off on Saturday after a three week international break. Videoton travelled east to Miskolc to face bottom of the table DVTK. The team wore black armbands in respect of a supporter that had suddenly passed away during the week.
The match kicked off at a good tempo with one or two chances at both ends. However, both defences looked tight. It was Vidi who has the first major chance to find the breakthrough after 11 minutes. A corner from Lazovic was headed on by Juhasz in to the path of Scepovic, who shot over the bar when well placed. There was plenty of good battles on the pitch but the supporters had to wait until the 40th minute for the next big chance. DVTK's Bognar cut in from the right and sent a powerful shot over the bar from 17 meters. Geresi then played Lazovic in a minute later, and he showed good touches before shooting at goal, but his shot was blocked by a home defender. There was still time left in the first period for Geresi to see some action but he could not find a way past DVTK keeper Rados.
The second half kicked off and Scepovics had an effort from a tight angle, and his low shot was saved by the feet of Rados. The home side had a chance after 49 minutes when Nemes' shot was dangerous and just avoided the visiting goal. Elek then headed at goal from close range, and it took a deflection off the back of Stopira, with Kovacsik pulling off a very good save to deny the former Vidi player. The game opened up and that brought more chances at both ends. A long throw by Stopira saw the ball at the feet of Patkai, who shot wide of goal from 11 meters.
Scepovic went down the right on 70 minutes, before trying to do a 1-2 with Geresi, but the ball was long and Rados dived to save. Juhasz fouled a home player after 73 minutes on the edge of the box. Bognar lined up before the ball and curled the free kick into the path of Novothny, who found the back of the net (1-0).
Kovacsik comfortably saved a shot from Nikhazi after 78 minutes, with Vidi placing the home side under more pressure as they looked to level the game. A quick counter attack from the home team after 85 minutes resulted in their second goal, which made the game safe. Bacsa played in Akos Elek, who calmly lifted the ball over Kovacsik to make it 2-0. Vidi tried hard to find a consolation goal but the score remained and the three points went to the Miskolc side.
Vidi are next in action on Saturday 22nd October when they take on Paks at Felcsut.
