Marko Nikolic: We worthily represented the club and Hungarian football in Europe

The Vidi manager met the media shortly after his sides 1-0 win over PAOK in Budapest.

MOL Vidi FC once again beat Greek side PAOK FC at the Groupama Arena in Budapest. This came on the back of October's win in Thessoliniki, Manager Marko Nikolic spoke to the media shortly after the 1-0 win.

Marko Nikolic, MOL Vidi FC manager:

"I congratulate my players who again repeated a nice result in what was a good match. This was just another one of many this season, and I have not even mentioned the game when we knocked out Bordeaux last season. We are worthily representing Vidi and Hungarian football in Europe. I want to say a special thanks to our medical team and also our fitness coach. We have virtually been playing two games a week for 5 months now and we are not picking up injuries. It is a tremendously difficult routine that we are in. I want to also thank the supporters for coming out and backing us, but again I have to say that I want to see many of them for our game with Mezokovesd. The same footballers will be running out for that game and if they do not deserve your support, then who? I have said several times both before this series of games and since that we are not here for decoration. We want to pick up results and have been preparing professionally for the game. I have seen each of PAOK's games this season and naturally this applies to all of our opponents. It is really hard to play two games against such quality opponents to deny them almost a chance on goal, but we managed this. This is one of so many games that we have been tactically perfect. These teams are ahead of us in the rankings in Europe. They have bigger budgets and we have to find the method to get above them. Sometimes good set play or really quick counter attacks are needed, always different. We still have the energy following the celebrations after the game, which there always is after a win, but we have a difficult game away at Mezokovesd in three days time and we need to prepare. I do not want to talk about our game with BATE as many of our players will be on international duty following our game on Sunday. It could happen that 5 will play on Monday, while we have the game with Ujpest on Wednesday. We then have the game with Debrecen and only after that can we start to talk about BATE and our match in the EL, as well as going through, which naturally is our aim" - commented manager Marko Nikolic.
