Italian match official for the Gent home leg

The Italian match official made his debut in the Italian first division back in 2005. He has gone on to referee in 76 Serie A matches. He joined the FIFA group of match officials in 2011, and his first international game came in the U19 match, which saw Spain beat Switzerland 2-1.

He has yet to officiate a game involving a Hungarian side, but has taken charge of a game involving Belgium side Westerlo. They lost that match 3-1 against Swiss side Young Boys. He has already been a referee in a Europa League match this season. That came in the Slaven - Portadown qualifier, which the home side won 6-0.
