"It was a very evenly matched game"

“Today’s match wasn’t a great one; the hard-fought action took place mainly in midfield. Overall, we probably had more chances to score than our opponents, but it was a very evenly matched game. We tried to play it safe and took the lead, which we should have held onto; unfortunately, the home side equalised a few minutes later. What happened at the end was absolutely astonishing – I’m lost for words. I don’t think it’s down to the manager that we’ve now lost our fourth match after the 90th minute. All this despite the fact that, just a minute earlier, we’d had a clear-cut chance right in front of the opposition’s goal. After that, one of our young players made a foolish, irresponsible decision. Tomorrow or the day after, we’ll have to make a responsible decision together with the sporting director regarding what the solution to this situation is.”

Attila Varga:

"The first half was a very scrappy affair in terms of the quality of play; both teams improved in the second half, but we weren’t able to show the potential of our attacks. The team reacted very well to conceding the goal; the performance and mentality we showed at that point enabled us to get back into the game. I’m very proud of the lads, because beating a team like Videoton is always a tremendous achievement for a ‘small team’ like ours.”
