Hodzic goal gives Vidi friendly win over Ujpest

Manager Gabor Marton chose the following side for this morning friendly against Ujpest at the MOL Arena Sosto: Rockov - Bolla, Vágó, Musliu, Zeke - Nyári, Nikolov - Funsho, Hodzic, Géresi - Nikolic.

A few minutes after the kick off, Hodzic was in a position with his low shot, which from 15 meters only just avoided the goal. In the 7th minute, Nikolic made the opponent's goalkeeper work. Pajovics had no problem saving the chance, but the flag of the linesmen went up. Seven minutes later, Rockov did well to deny a Gigic's 15-meter effort, which was heading for the bottom left corner. The Vidi keeper making a very good save. In the 17th minute Géresi went down the wing after Hodzic found him with the ball, and with Nikolic waiting in the middle, an alert visiting keeper managed to clear the danger. A minute later, Újpest had another attack, which Bjelos could have finished with a goal, his 15-meter shot was saved by Rockov. In the 19th minute, Nikolic missed Bolla's pass, the ball found Géresi on the far side, the move with the lilac defender dealing with it. The next fell in front of Géresi, who beat his defender with a clever trick and then aimed for the bottom left corner of the goal from 15 meters, but he could not beat Pajovics.

Nikolic shook the Ujpest net on 26 minutes following a precise cross from the right by Bolla, which the Vidi forward headed into the corner. However, the goal was ruled out for offside. Stieber took a free kick on 31 minutes, and his shot was confidently collected by Rockov, who again was well placed. Calcan hit a volley following a corner for Ujpest, but Rockov got down well to collect. Funsho made life tricky for keeper Pajovic in the moments that followed. It was the keeper that emerged on top. Hodzic sent his shot wide of goal just before the break. 

The teams went in at half time with the score at 0-0.

The first real chance of the second half arrived at the feet of Funsho, with the forward shooting at goal, but the shot went over. Another Vidi attack after 55 minutes saw Nikolov on the end of a Funsho cross. However, it went wide of the goal from 14 meters. Nikolic tried with a shot on 57 minutes after a pass by Bolla found him. The effort was parried by keeper Pajovic. Funsho and Nikolic went forward towards the Ujpest goal three minutes later, but the Nigerian forward put too much power on his ball, but Nikolic still managed to direct the ball at goal, but Pajovic did well to race out of his goal. Lubaki Rossi showed danger down the right after 73 minutes. He aimed for the bottom corner and just wide of the post. 

Another run down the right after 80 minutes from Rossy ended with Rockov saving his chance. It was a repeat 8 minute later when a massive Rockov save denied Rossy. The home supporters inside the stadium were on their feet celebrating a last minute goal. Hodzic turning nicely and shooting from 15 meters into the bottom corner, with the ball bouncing off the post and settling in the back of the net. It made the final result of the morning friendly 1-0.
