The 1988-89 season sees the side produce a great team, and end up being one of Videoton’s strongest ever teams, under the guidance of manager Gabor Kaszas. The success comes in the first season in charge for manager Marko Nikolic.

In fact the year of 2018 ended up being even more successful as MOL Vidi qualified for the Europa League Group Stage for the second time in the clubs history. Infact they could have gone one better and made it into the Champions League Group Stage, but defeat to AEK Athens in the play off's secured the Europa League after several qualifying games that included wins over Ludogorets and Malmo. The EL Group Stage saw Vidi paired with Chelsea, PAOK and BATE. The Hungarian side managed home and away wins over PAOK and a point at home to Chelsea to collect 7 points and 3rd place.

2020

We reached the playoffs in the Europa League, while losing in the final of the MOL Hungarian Cup and third place in the championship. The new head coach appointed in the summer, Gábor Márton, left his post after just 9 months, he was briefly replaced by Tamás Szalai, and from the 1st April Imre Szabics took over.

2021

One of the biggest successes of the season came from Nemanja Nikolics, who scored his 112th goal in the NB I for Vidi in the match away against Gyirmót, overtaking the club record holder József Szabó. Nikolics scored 117 goals in the league, and as his contract, which was due to expire at the end of the season, was not renewed, he finished his career with 117 goals in the NB I. Our club has retired the number 17 shirt for good.

2022

Our team did a good job in the European Conference League, we advanced against Gabala from Azerbaijan and Petrocub from Moldova, and we even beat 1. FC Köln from the Bundesliga 2-1 away from home in the play off game, but in the MOL Arena Sóstó, in a great atmosphere, in front of more than 10,000 spectators, the Germans won 3-0, so they qualified for the group stage. The results in the league did not go according to plan, so in October István Sallói was replaced by Roland Juhász as sporting director and Szabolcs Huszti took over as head coach from Michael Boris. In the MOL Hungarian Cup, we went out in the last 32 against Puskás Akadémia.

2024

We qualified again for the UEFA Conference League after a fourth place finish the season before. In fact Vidi could have ended in second place had results gone their way on the final game of the 2023/2024 season. In the summer, Bartosz Grzelak left our club to be replaced by Tamas Peto, who had earlier served our club in several positions including caretaker head coach. Vidi were knocked out of the Conference League at the Q3 stage having gone past Azerbaijan side Sumqayit in Q2. Omonoia Nicosia proved too strong over two legs.
