The two managers spoke to the media following Thursday's first leg match.
Henning Berg:
"What was the feeling to sit on the bench for the first time at Vidi? If we look at the result, you could say that it was good. To win by three goals is a good thing, but I also liked the mentality shown by the players. They always got back on their feet when they were kicked to the ground and continued going forward. The two late goals confirms the mentality, and also shows where we are from a fitness point of view. Football can sometimes be like this, when you need to wait a while for a goal or two. There were more chances in the game and we could have scored the second goal earlier. The match was only settled in the closing stages. The visitors tired more quickly after the sending off, and it is hard at these times to cope with the pressure. You can keep things going for 60-70 minutes, but it is hard to carry this through to the end. I also thought that we were the better side when both teams had 11 on the pitch. I am pleased that both our forwards scored. Geresi made some good runs and hit the post and put in some good balls to make sure he was noticed. Robert Feczesin was hungry for goals when he came on. He scored a lovely header and a well placed shot in a short period of time. Both of these goals were important for us. There were good players sitting on the bench, and even in the stands. I am pleased that there is competition for places in the squad. This can only be good for Videoton. I was pleased with elements of our game, but there were some that did not appeal to me. Our ball possession, positional play are areas I would like to develop. We need to learn to dominate in similar games and that will help us produce better performance on the pitch."
Vlad Goian:
"I felt that the match was balanced in the first half. Perhaps the home side had two more chances than we did. I was disappointed that their first goal was as a result of a mistake by us. Our player was given a yellow card instead of a penalty in the second half. This saw us down to ten men. It was hard to stay in the game with Vidi following this. We were put under pressure in the final 7 minutes and conceded another goal. We also had another player sent off, which was not deserved. I would like to congratulate the Fehervar side on the game. I am not sure if we can make up the three goal deficit but we will try to win the match next week."
