The two manager's spoke to the media after the final whistle
Bernard Casoni: The most important thing tonight was that we managed to go through. The club achieved a historic success. I would like to congratulate the players as they surpassed themselves with the fighting spirit. TNS withdrew and defended in numbers. I am sure that the players would have been more relaxed had we scored a goal earlier on. The thought of going out did not enter my head when they scored their goal. We created many chances both before and after and I had faith in my team that they would score. We fought throughout with our heads held high, which is a positive aspect looking ahead in to the future. The injury to Juhasz did not make things easier for us in the second half, but overall I have to say that we reached our target.
Craig Harrison: It was a game that I was counting on and we knew that Vidi are a good team. They like to have plenty of possession. It was important to remain calm and patient and wait for the chance. We then managed to score a goal. We played well in extra time but sadly conceded a goal at the end. It was a big result that things remained so tight during the game. I am very proud of my team and it was a battle where we could have emerge as winners. We followed our plan perfectly and I am satisfied on the whole. We are not used to this weather but we were within touching distance of going through.
