We asked our national team defender what he expects from Saturday’s two friendly matches.
- We have come to the final stage of pre-season, how would you evaluate the work done so far?
In my opinion, we have prepared well, everyone has done the work required of them. What makes us feel a little bit lacking are the results of the training matches so far, unfortunately we haven't been able to win, though we don't have to be successful now, but from August 15th. The head coach tried to give everyone as many opportunities as possible, there were also players he tried in several positions, all in all I think we are on the right track.
- Until next week's league start, two more training matches await us. First we will play with Ujpest on Saturday morning and then Slavia Praha in the afternoon. Presumably everyone gets 90 minutes, I think you’re more than happy with that, as its better than playing just one half.
That’s right, I definitely think it’s a good solution to play two training matches in one day, so really all members of the squad can get a 90-minute match load. We don't know yet in which match we will play, but that is not important, but to be able to adhere to the tactical things that the coaching team ask us for before the match. Both of our opponents on Saturday are made up of good players, so these two games will be an ideal strength test before next week’s league start. Ujpest do not need to be introduced to anyone, and Slavia Praha comfortably won the Czech championship.
