The Videoton FC squad arrived safely at their base in Malaga on Wednesday
The first team squad met early on Wednesday morning at the Sostoi stadium at around 6:30am. They then travelled down to Budapest and onto Liszt Ferenc airport. Paulo Sousa and his squad caught a flight out to Paris first, from where they headed onto their base in Malaga. They did experience a delay of over one hour while in Paris, due to a strike in France. The journey from Paris to Malaga was about two hours, with the players either talking or choosing to sleep during the flight. Gyorgi Sandor had the bad luck of having his baggage lost on transit. The airport officials did promise that it would be reunited with the player, no later than Friday!
"The airport authorities promised me that they would locate the missing baggage, and would try to get it back to me as soon as possible. Luckily I am experienced when it comes to travelling, so I did put several necessary items into my hand luggage, so I will be ok" - explained the club captain.
The boys then checked into their hotel in Estepona at around 19:00pm. There then followed a training session where the players were able to shake off the journey and do some stretching and jogging. The weather is around 15c and the boys are in a good mood, despite the delay in their flight. Thursday will see two tough training sessions for the players as they step up their fitness ahead of the friendly matched.
