A Honved side battling for the top 3 are next up

Videoton travel to Honved on Wednesday for the rearranged OTP league game.

Videoton can go joint top on points with Ferencvaros if they can defeat Budapest Honved on Wednesday. Match 21 of the OTP league season was postponed back at the start of March due to the cold weather. The new fixture will be played on Wednesday evening with an 18:00pm kick off. It will be the first time that Vidi have returned to the Bozsik stadium since the title decider last May.

The Kispest side are 4th in the league after 24 games with 35 points. A win would lift them into the top 3 on Wednesday. They have picked up mixed results over 2018 so far. They took the lead in their game with Ferencvaros before losing 5-2. There was another defeat to Vasas before things turned: Haladas and Balmazujvaros were both beaten. They also picked up a point in their draw with DVTK in between. Honved made it through against Siofok in the Hungarian cup before losing to DVSC 3-1.

Their squad is valued at 7,93 million euros and is the fourth highest in value in the NB I according to transfermarkt.de. Davide Lazafame is valued at 1,5m€, while Marton Eppel is around the 650,000€ mark. Daniel Gazdag is another to stand out at 500,000€.

The top goalscorers table sees Honved players occupy 3rd and 6th place: Last season's top scorer was Marton Eppel and he has hit 11 so far with Davide Lanzafame already on 12 for this season.

There was some movement in players during the winter. Tomas Kosut came in from Poland, while Tonci Kukoc arrived from Bosnia. Former Vidi player Heffler was another to join. Players to depart were Zsolt Laczko and Balazs Villam. Milan Majer was promoted from the second team and has already featured during the spring season.
