Goals from Alves and Brachi gave Videoton a win at home to DVTK
Videoton: Tujvel, Brachi, Lipták, Vaskó, Horváth G. (Polonkai, 74.), Gosztonyi (Nikolic, 86.), Sándor, | ||
Vidi began the match with Tujvel retaining his place in goal, and a back line, which remained unchanged from the last few games. The red and blues had a settled side and they began the game at a fast pace, which saw DVTK kept in their half for the first 20 minutes of the match. Both sides had suffered a defeat last week, which meant that they were anxious to get it out of their systems. Team captain Sandor had the first chance of the game after three minutes, but his effort went wide of the post. Daniel Nagy crossed from the right, on five minutes, and Sandor hit the post with his left foot, with the rebound falling to Alves who shot wide.
The goal should have signalled further attacks on goal, as the home team looked to extend their lead. Alves shot at goal on twenty three minutes, with DVTK keeper Rados doing well to save it, while Sandor failed to connect with the ball from close range. Diosgyőr were finding it hard to come out of their own half in the opening thirty minutes. Sandor's perfect cross ball to Gosztonyi, once again saw the winger beat his man, but his centre avoided everyone and the danger was cleared. The final minutes of the opening period saw the visitors come more into the game. Their forwards were seeing more of the ball, without ever putting any real pressure on Tujvel's goal. The first half ended with Vidi leading by a single Alves goal. The first minute of the second half saw Alves escape down the left and his centre ended with Sandor heading over.
