Vidi took to the pitch at the Puskas stadium in search of three points, which would take them a step closer to European football in the summer. In lovely weather and in a great atmosphere, around 10,000 were present, including around 800 visiting Videoton supporters. Vidi last played a league match there in 2006, when they managed to beat Ujpest 3-1. It took Vidi a minute to go ahead following a good move, which was engineered by Istvan Kovacs. He turned his player well in midfield, before running towards goal, and finding the hard working Sandor Torghelle with a lovely ball, which he made no mistake with, shooting into the far corner of the net. Besic tested Bozsovics in the 12th minute from long-range, which required a good save from the giant keeper.

Aborah headed over from close range a minute later, following a corner. Fradi had around half a dozen corner kicks inside 20 minutes, which kept the visiting defenders on their toes. The 33rd minute resulted in Bozsovics running out of his goal well to clear the danger from the feet of Bode. The powerful Bode could have levelled the score in the 40th minute, but he blasted over with the goal gaping. It frustrated one bench while there was relief on the other.

Ferencvaros did not put Vidi under the same amount of pressure in the second half, as they had done in the first 45 minutes. There were very few chances in front of either goal, while there were big battles for possession all over the pitch. Vidi's defence remained strong throughout the 90 minutes, which helped them to an important win at the great old stadium.

The 74th minute saw Kovacs pass the ball back for the arriving Gyurcso, who blasted the ball over the bar from inside the box. Nikolics came on as a second half substitute, and he bought a good save out of Jova, after the Vidi player controlled the ball well before hitting it powerfully at goal. Stopira had the whole goal at his feet in the final minute of the game, after a quick move, but his composure let him down and the ball ended up high over the bar. The final event of an exciting game resulted in Jenner getting a red card by the corner flag, following a challenge on Paraiba. Kassai had no alternative but to send him off.

Vidi showed great character to come back strongly following the league cup final result. The win means the Fehervar side are second in the league table, just 7 points behind leaders Győri ETO.
