Videoton FC hit Siofok for seven on Saturday afternoon, at the Sostoi stadium in Fehervar. In the final home league game of 2011, Vidi run riot in the second half, hitting an amazing four goals in the last ten minutes, as the visitors defence melted away. There was a first league start for Mladen Bozovic, fresh from international duty with the Montenegro side.

Vinicius partnered Caneira at the heart of defence with Spanish duo, Brachi and Hector occupying the full back spots. Oliveira started on the right after his recent spell at left back, with Walter working the left hand flank. A midfield trio of Sandor, Toth and Mitrovic, meant that Siofok were always going to have their work cut out in midfield. Alves played the lone striker, and he was to to end the afternoon with an impressive hatrick.

The Siofok defence survived the first 40 minutes, as it seemed that they would go in at the break with their goal still intact. The breakthrough came with Oliveira turning in front of goal to slip the ball past the helpless Milinte. The 1-0 scoreline was soon 2-0 as Vidi continued to press forward. Andre Alves took advantage of a bad defensive error as he looked up and found the corner of the net to give Vidi a healthy half time lead. No one inside the Sostoi stadium could predict at the break what was to come in the next 45 minutes. It must have been an interesting half time team talk from Paulo Sousa, warning his side not to be complacent with the 2-0 lead. However, his team must have taken full notice as they went out on to the Sostoi pitch and turned in a very confincing display.

The introduction of Nemanja Nikolics was the final straw for the Siofok defence, as he linked up well with Alves to score four more goals towards the end of the match. 'Niko' made it 4-0 on 81 minutes, before setting up strike partner Alves, for the Brazilian's second and Vidi's fifth. It was 6-0 after 87 minutes when Alves completed his hatrick, but before the Sostoi crowd had time to take their seats, they were celebrating the seventh, after a nice curling shot from Nikolics. Siofok were no match for a stunning Vidi side who could simply not cope with the constant attacks from Paulo Sousa's side. The 7-0 win also helps Vidi's goalcount, with the Fehervar side occupying third place after other results went their way. The win will send out a message to the other sides in the OTP league that Vidi will be looking to get back to the top of the table during the spring season. The attention now switches to next weeks away match at improving Paks.
