Our forward, who has returned from a long injury, is getting more and more playing time and has already scored a goal in the league. This time, we talked to him about our league match against FTC and the tense final stretch of the season.
On Sunday evening, we visit FTC, who are fighting for another league title. What kind of match are you expecting against them?
We are expecting an extremely difficult match, not only because FTC are fighting for the championship title, but also because they have the strongest squad in the league. That's why it won't be enough for us to give our best; everyone who takes to the pitch will have to give 200%. We know how difficult our situation is, but I feel that the whole team is very motivated.
Ferencváros is playing in the MOL Hungarian Cup final on Wednesday evening. Do you think we can take advantage of the fact that the Ferencváros players will be a little more tired?
I don't think the cup final will affect our match on Sunday, because, as I said, Ferencváros has the strongest squad in the NB I, and not only is their squad strong, but it's also deep. We shouldn't be preparing for our opponents to be more tired. We just have to focus on ourselves and follow the plan set out by the coaching staff. We'll do everything we can to get points on Sunday.
You are no stranger to the current situation, as you experienced a similar situation here at Vidi two years ago, when our survival was decided in the last round. Our fate is in our own hands. If we win the last round, regardless of all other results, we will be playing in NB I next year. What is the mood like in the dressing room?
Yes, the situation is very similar to two years ago. It is extremely important that our fate is in our own hands and we don't have to pay attention to other results. The next week and a half will be decisive. We have to show on the pitch what we are capable of. I feel that we are a much better team than our position in the table suggests, but it's not enough to just talk about it, we have to prove it on the pitch. One thing is for sure: we will fight to the last breath in front of our home crowd to maintain our place in the top flight.
