Taking a closer look at the high points of manager Gyorgy Mezey's period in charge of Videoton
We take a look at four games:
15th July 2009: KTE-Ereco - Videoton FC 3-6
Gyorgy Mezey saw his new side get off to a great start, in the first league game of last season. Vidi won the match 6-3, which became a record for the highest away scoring match. Another interesting fact was that Akos Elek, one of Mezey's big discoveries, scored his first division one goal in the match.
25th October 2009: Videoton FC - DVSC-Teva 3-0
Vidi were surprising many with the good start to the season, which saw them come up against Debrecen after twelve matches. The good home win over the champions, sent positive signals to the rest of the teams in the league. The good second half performance saw goals from Liptak, Polonkai and Andjics in a 3-0 win.
12th March 2011: Ferencváros - Videoton FC 0-5
A scoreline that you can never get bored about: Videoton won 5-0 away at the Albert stadium in Budapest! The win over the green and whites created a new record for the club. That game saw Vidi record their highest away victory in the top division.
11th May 2011: Videoton FC - Kaposvar 3-1
The brightest evening for the club. Videoton picked up their first league title on the 11th May 2011. Late goals from Polonkai and Szakaly gave Vidi the sweet taste of success, after Kaposvar had equalised Nikolics' first half strike. The players and fans celebrated into the early hours of the next morning, following this win!
