Videoton travelled to the capital on Saturday and left Budapest empty handed, following a single goal win for Honved. Vidi played in an all white strip, while the home side played in their regular red and black striped shirts. Both sides began the match with plenty of mistakes in what was a scrappy start. Sandor could have put Vidi ahead but he headed wide of the mark following a corner.

The 28th minute saw Evandro try his luck but the keeper was equal to it. Hector also had a shot on goal from 20 meters out. Both keepers were seeing very little of the ball despite Vidi enjoying more of the possession at that point. Akos Elek crossed from the wing in the 38th minute but the ball failed to find a man in a white top. Alves managed to find the back of the net on 37 minutes, but the linesman flagged for offside, and Honved escaped with the scores still goaless. Elek then tried his luck in the 39th minute but his effort did not find the back of the net. There were yellow cards given to both Honved defender Debreceni, and two minutes later, Hector followed him into the referee's book.

Danielo picked himself up to blast past Tujvel in the away goal to put Honved 1-0 up. Nikolics came on for Elek to add strength to the forward line as Vidi went looking for the equaliser. The 63rd minute saw Oliveira deliver a lovely ball in from the right, which Nikolics headed onto the post, but unfortunately, it came back off the outside of the post and away to safety. Gosztonyi was also brought on for Sandor to add more options on the wings. Kemenes did well to safe a Gabor Horvath header with ten minutes left on the clock.

Paulo Sousa made his final change bringing on Walter for Evandro. However, there were very few chances created towards the end. Kassai still had time to send off home player Akkasou following a clash with Horvath. The home team managed to hold out till the final whistle to keep all three points at the Bozsik stadium, but not before Honved manager Supka was also sent from the touchline, in an event filled match.
