Marko Nikolic: Paks deserved the three points

The two managers shared their thoughts after the final whistle on Saturday.

Marko Nikolic:

"I would like to congratulate the home side for the win. We controlled the game for the first 30 minutes but made several incomprehensible technical errors in the last quarter of the first period. We went in at half time with the score at 0-0. We did not start the second half too badly, but Stefan missed his chance and Stopira was waiting for a new shirt to pull on as there was blood on his. It was at that moment that Paks scored. However, it was us that had an attacking set piece leading up to that goal. I could not believe what I saw. It became even harder to play against Paks after this and the home side deservedly won. We still have five games remaining to battle for our target. We play Ferencvaros next weekend, but I feel that the league title will not be decided after that match. There will still be four difficult games after that for the team. I would like to say a big thanks to the supporters who followed us today."

The journalists asked questions at the post match press conference. These included Danko Lazovic missing the game that perhaps saw the team create fewer chances. Another point raised was the kind of game Vidi played that was thought to be unacceptable for a team fighting to win the league.

"Danko Lazovic is an exceptional player, but this is not an individual but team sport rather. These situations were missing with perhaps a Loic Nego move from deep another issue. Also our set-pieces were not how we wanted them to be even if we had many. Stopira had one or two headers that come to mind. Paks really battled today as they need to. You could see this in the battles and heading duals. They played with double determination. We had something missing from our game today, which is unacceptable. Paks wanted the win more today and I spoke to the players about this in the dressing room after the match."

Csertői Aurél:

"I would firstly like to congratulate all of my players as they gave their all today. We played well in parts against a very good side. We were not the favourites but in football you can play well and win a game. This happened in today's match. Vidi hit the ball long in the second half, which gave us plenty of chances to hit them on the counter attack. We could have scored a second goal. I would not like to really talk about whether we can reach third place as we lost our last two home games. I would rather say that we are a stable mid table side. However, if we can play as we did last week and today, then anything is possible."
