Marko Nikolic: It was important to start off with a win

The two managers shared their thoughts on Saturday's game after the final whistle.

Marko Nikolic:

"I want to congratulate my team and thank the supporters for coming out in such cold weather to support us. It was very important after the long winter break to start the spring with a win. I would like to mention the attitude of the players and it could be seen that they really wanted to win. We will need this mentality over the next 13 league games. Taking into account that this was the first game of the spring, I felt that the supporters saw a good tempo match, with plenty of battles and lots of running. It was a difficult game as Vidi have not had the best of runs against Vasas. The Budapest club are always uncomfortable opponents, but let's not forget that they were playing Europa League football in the summer. It is true that they have fallen down the league, but they have quality. I was satisfied with the way we coped with the Vasas set pieces, despite the fact that they are strong and have tall players. However, we did well from our set-pieces, which were dangerous. There were moments in the game that were not that good and we gave the ball away several times. However, as I have said, it is very important that we start with a win. I would also like to mention the attitude of the team and also an event that took place after Stopira had to come off with an injury. We called out for Vinicius to come on. He is an experienced international player who then ran 200 meters to be able to come on. I was scared that he would suffer an injury in that sprint! I like to see this in my team.

Michael Oenning:

"I am not satisfied at all with the result, but the performance was OK. They gave everything out there on the pitch. We had the chance to win the game and we were on par with our opponents Vidi. We tried to direct things with a man less, and perhaps we were the better side towards the end. Both sides had chances during the first half and the game was balanced. It is hard to sum up the second period because of the match officials. The sending off and the yellow cards did not meet with my agreement. We can build in the future on today's performance but not the result."
