Hungary's U21 side win 3-2

Three Videoton players played a part in the win over Northern Ireland

The young Hungarian U21 side played a friendly match against Northern Ireland in Tatabanya, on Wednesday. It was all part of manager Antal Roth's preparation ahead of the two qualification games in September. Hungary fielded the following side: Gulácsi Péter - Sváb Dániel, Kádár Tamás, Szolnoki Roland, Fodor Ferenc (Litauszki Róbert, 71.) - Simon Ádám (Windecker József, 63.), Fiola Attila, Kovács István (Haraszti Zsolt, 71.) - Bódi Ádám (Radó András, 46.), Tischler Patrik (Beliczky Gergő, 46.), Gosztonyi András (Balázs Benjámin, 63.)

The game began fairly evenly in the opening minutes, before Hungary began to dominate things. The home side went ahead in the 16th minute, when Gosztonyi scored a good individual goal. Northern Ireland were level from their first chance, with their goal coming from McEleney's header. Vidi youngster Kovacs had the final real chance of the half, but he shot over the bar following a cross.

Hungary did not take long to go ahead in the second half. Beliczky turned before shooting from close range to make it 2-1. Rado then scored to give Hungary a two-goal cushion after 62 minutes. The Irish pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 89th minute, thanks to James Gray, but it was not enough, as Roth's young team emerged 3-2 winners.
