Henning Berg: "We deserved to win the match today"

The two managers shared their thoughts on Saturday's OTP league match.

Henning Berg:

"Haladas had the chances and Adam Kovacsik had to pull off a couple of good saves and they also hit the post. However, we were the better side and we deserved to win after our second half performance. As to whether it was difficult to put together the starting eleven? It always is. We have many good players and more than we had in the summer, when we had to play two games each week. I have looked at the fixtures and a similar period is ahead of us when we will again be playing two matches each week. That means that there will be changes to the team. Competition within the squad is great and this is good for Videoton long term and also for the players. For some of them it will also be difficult as a good player does not like to be left out sometimes, but if he signs for a club, which has big targets and is fighting for trophies, then they have to count on this. We beat Debrecen 5-1 most recently, which is why I did not feel that I had to make too many changes. Andras Fejes came into the team in place of Adam Lang, while Stopira was fit again and he played at left back once more. Perhaps Roland Szolnoki can feel disappointed, but I would add that Szolnoki has played well in the positions he has performed in. It will be hard to make changes to the team after today's good performance, but as I have said, I do expect to make some changes looking ahead."

Géza Mészöly:

"We had two big chances in the first half, and we should have scored from at least one of them. That would have resulted in the game being completely different. We were 1-0 down in the second half when Peter Halmosi put in a lovely cross for Krisztof Polgar, who was unlucky not to level the game. Gabor Kiraly also picked up an injury, which did not come at a good time for us. That comes on top of the injuries suffered yesterday to Balint Gaal and Mario Nemeth. That is a bit too much for the size of our squad. We played a couple of young players today and I am pleased that I can count on them. I did not feel that the 3-0 score reflected the actual match."
