PRESS CONFERENCE

"We’ve taken the first step, and we’re moving forward.”

Tamás Pető and Márk Nikházi gave their thoughts on the league match, which ended in a 3–0 victory for Videoton.

Tamás Pető:

“We controlled the match from the very first minute and took the lead very quickly, after which we were able to add another goal straight away. From then on, we had the match in the bag. In the second half, there was a 5-10-minute spell when we were pushed back a bit in front of our goal, but apart from that one shot that hit the bar, the opposition posed no real threat to our goal. We’ve worked really hard on our finishing over the past three weeks; we’ve improved a great deal in that respect, and if we’d concentrated a bit more, we could have really run rings round our opponents. I think the result is flattering for them. We’ve set ourselves a goal, we’ve taken the first step, and we’re moving forward.”

Márk Nikházi:

“We were just as poor as the referee, especially at the start – and I say this whilst acknowledging that the referee made mistakes both ways, though the more significant ones were perhaps to our detriment. I’m proud of our performance after the sending-off and in the second half, because the lads put their heart and soul into it; we hit the woodwork and scored a goal that wasn’t given. Of course, we knew we were playing against Vidi, a team that perhaps doesn’t even belong in this division. Congratulations to them!”
